Fall Play Auditions - Actors & Technicians The Fall Play each year is considered the smaller "Varsity" production of the school year. It is typically comprised of Junior and Senior actors enrolled in Studio Theatre Advanced or actors who have been involved with 2 or more productions at Lakes. The methodology behind this lies in the fact that these actors are accoustomed to balancing rigorous rehearsal schedules and schoolwork. In addition the Fall rehearsal period is the most concentrated and requires the actors to already have a working rehearsal vocabulary. Typically Freshmen are encouraged to work behind the scenes and acclimate themselves to the theatre program at Lakes before auditioning.

This year's fall play is Rumors by Neil Simon. For auditions students should prepare a 1 - 2 minute comedic monologue that showcases their personality and sense of humor. Monologues can be found online, at your local libraries, or bookstores. My personal tip for finding monologues is read several until you laugh, connect, and then picture yourself doing the monologue. Then get together with friends or family and read them out loud. Monologues must be school appropriate.

Auditions will be held on 9/10. Students will sign up for time slots in B200. If you are called back, call backs will be held from 3 - 6pm on 9/11.

Scripts are available at the LCHS Library. Serious actors would not only prepare a monolouge but also read the play and become familiar with the characters.

If you are interested in working TECH, there will be tech auditions the week of 9/15. More information will become available at the start of the school year. Working tech is just as high an honor as being cast in the Fall Production.

If you have any questions about the Fall Play, please email Ms. Sundin bsundin@lakeseagles.com
