Big competition -- Regionals Feb 24th at NIU. Congratulations to Blythe and Tom - they placed in the Geometry contest, to Blythe and Mignon - they took first in the Fr-So 2-person team event, and to Mike and Theresa - they took first in the oral presentation team event. All five advance to State Finals on April 28th.

Statewide regional results will be posted as soon as possible (probably Monday morning).
Math team shirts are in the works. We should have them (in part) by regionals.

WE DID IT!!! At Regionals we placed 3rd for the entire team in our division. Congratulations for the entire team--everyone contributed. As for those who advance to State on April 22nd here they are:

Precalc--the entire team of Stephan Suhar, Hannah Scheidt, Simon Helgeson, Abby Girod, Katherine Schulz (2nd), and Adam Hughes (1st)

Congratulations to Abby Girod and Adam Hughes for 2nd place finish on Precalculus test at Antioch Invitational and to the All-Level Gray Relay team on their 3rd place finish.

On ILML #3 Katherine Schulz and Adam Hughes both scored 5s. (So did Aurimas)
ILML #4 Katherine and Blythe got the 5s this time.
For the 5th ILML, Katherine and Stephan earned the 5s.
Math Team event at the corn maze at Richardson Farms in Spring Grove on Sunday, October 16th, was a blast.

Goals for 2005-2006:
1) Increase the number of ribbons won at Antioch Invitational
2) Qualify four groups at regionals
3) Win trophies at State
4) Increase the team size by at least 10%
5) Get shirts by November--okay, at least before Antioch Invitational
6) Increase our team scores in the ILML and Whitewater Competitions
7) ...
Practice: Practices are on Tuesdays at 3:15 pm in room 111. Open to anyone interested in competing in and learning more mathematics.
