Course & Activity Guide Description

Antioch Community High School Course & Activity Guide provides the following course description:

Elective 10-12, 1 year, 1 credit
This course will take the student to a more advanced level of AutoCAD, 3-D, dimensioning, and tricks of AutoCAD will be covered. Along with CAD, many phases of mechanical drafting will be learned; such as, multi-view, sections, auxiliary, dimensioning, geometry, cams and gears, and pattern development.
Prerequisite: Technical Drawing 1

Activities

Students in Technical Drawing 2 class will use various software suites including AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Rhinoceros, Mecsoft Visualmill, BobCAD-CAM, WELturn, Adobe applications, and Microsoft applications. Students will use these software suites to create 2 and 3-dimensional drawings. The software suites will also allow students to manufacture physical products. Assignment #1: Recreate drawings in Autodesk Inventor

The drawings below were created in 2-dimensions (flat) in AutoCAD in Technical Drawing 1 class.

In Technical Drawing 2 class, students are to recreate the drawings in 3-dimensions using Autodesk Inventor software. Do not dimension any of the drawings. Extrude the parts to an appropriate length that is consistent with the overall proportions of the drawings. See directions below each drawing.
