What is field hockey?

Field hockey is a cross between soccer, lacrosse and hockey. Eleven players pass, shot and dribble on a 100 yard field towards a goal cage on each endline. The team who scores the most goals wins!

Equipment needed: Shin guards, Goggles, mouth guard and a field hockey stick

Field hockey is a great way to meet girls at LCHS and have fun in the fall while playing a sport. LCHS has a varsity team coached by Vikki Ecker and a junior varsity team coached by Julie Shepard. Field hockey plays up to 20 games per season. It's a great way to get or stay in shape, improve your eye hand coordination and work on team building skills.

The way a team plays determines its success. You may have the greated bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime- Babe Ruth
