What do school social workers do?
School Social Workers are trained
mental health professionals with a master’s degree in social work who provide
services related to a student’s social and emotional adjustment to school,
family, community and society. School
Social Workers are the link between the home, school, and community providing
direct as well as indirect services to students, families and school personnel
to promote and support students’ academic and social successes.
It is my mission to provide
assistance and resources to the students and families in our LCHS
community. Life is unpredictable and can
and will throw things at us that are unexpected. It could be unexpected illnesses, job loss,
death in the family, health challenges, mental illness, domestic violence,
addiction, separations, marriages, divorces, a traumatic event, a move, news of
a diagnosis or just a challenge moving from one phase of life to another. Maybe
we have noticed our child is not acting the same way or we are worried about
their mood changes. Everyone needs help from someone at least once in their
lives. I am a resource that can help with where to begin when you just don’t
know where to start.
RESOURCE INFORMATION:
I have numerous resources listed under each
link.
