Text Box: 	Following the Civil War and the Reconstruction Era, the United States was bestowed  with a time of great industrial growth and immigration known as the Gilded Age. During this time, there was visible and revolutionary change among the industrial aspects of the nation, all of which assisted in a booming economy. He was the 22nd president of the United States, and  a Democrat.  He is the only president to ever serve two terms not consecutively.  He was in constant conflict with the Republican congress, and led to him using his veto power hundreds of times.

He was the 19th president of the United States, and a Republican.  He struggled with Civil Rights issues while trying to appease the Democrats of the South of the same time.  In doing this, he alienated many fellow Republicans.

He was the 21st president of the United States, and he was also a Republican.  He sought to distance himself from the political factions of the Republican Party once he was in office.  He also was part of the first federal immigration law.
